THE IMPLOSION OF THE J.D. HAYWORTH CAMPAIGN

The release yesterday by the McCain campaign of the hilarious video "Second J.D. Hayworth Infomercial Unearthed!" has the Hayworth Knee Padders going bonkers!

All over the Internet yesterday, TEAM DESPERADO was out 'trying' to answer that video. Funny how J.D's OWN WORDS & ACTIONS come back to haunt him!

First, Hayworth's 'Social Media Guru' says
WE got the National Review to endorse McCain! WOW I didn't know we had that much influence...LMAO!

Next, Hayworth's Field Director, Shane Wikfors (who also runs the Sonoran Alliance -Paid for By J.D. Hayworth Blog) went on a tirade after the release of the video. Posting really old video on McCain (at least 4 articles worth) then going on Twitter to say this:

SWIKFORS: "That (video) wasn't unearthed! It was crapped out of Sen. John McCain's Ass!

Mr. Wikfors then posted this on the McCain YouTube Channel:

Sonoranalliance: "That video wasn't unearthed! It was pulled out of John McCain's Ass!

Then he posted this on his own blog (and later DELETED IT):

Incidentally David,

Where the "F" was John McCain when we were trying to stop Obama?

If he hadn't played the pussy and thrown the election he might have been President!

Just when you think you have seen it all? The total collapse of J.D. Hayworth and those that surround him is imminent! These people have become the same bully that JD is known for being.

The horrible behavior by the Hayworth supporters at the recent LD-6 meeting is proof of just how desperate the Hayworth campaign has gotten. Many are saying that Jim Deakin might just come in 2nd place, beating J.D. Hayworth. Wouldn't that be embarrassing?

I have some words for these HKP's. Listen closely to the lyrics of this song by the "King":

McCain 2010 Campaign Update

This has been a busy week in Washington, D.C. and Arizona, and Senator McCain has been right in the middle of the fight. From immigration reform to fighting for victory in Afghanistan, Senator McCain continues to articulate effective solutions for addressing the challenges facing Arizona and our Nation.

In these tumultuous times, now more than ever Arizona needs Senator McCain's strong leadership in Washington.

His message of fiscal conservatism and strong leadership on foreign policy cannot be matched by any other candidate in Arizona.

In case you missed it, Senator McCain was a guest on Meet The Press this weekend. He talked with host David Gregory about the war in Afghanistan, immigration reform and the nomination of Elena Kagan to the US Supreme Court. You can see the full interview here:

Additionally, just this morning, General David Petraeus testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee about the Administration's plan in Afghanistan.

Senator McCain said clearly and emphatically at the hearing that:
“None of this is to say that we are failing, or that we will fail, in Afghanistan. It just means that we need to give our strategy the necessary time to succeed. We cannot afford to have a ‘stay the course’ approach to starting our withdrawal in July 2011 when
the facts on the ground are suggesting that we need more time. This is all the more essential now with General Petraeus assuming command, pending his confirmation. He has proved that he can win wars, and we need to give him every opportunity and remove every obstacle to win in Afghanistan.”

Senator McCain's opening statement at the hearing can be read here.

The campaign is making great progress and as always, thank you for your support. When you have a few minutes please come down to Campaign HQ and join us to volunteer for phone banks and neighborhood walks.

Early voting is only 30 days away and every vote counts!

Thanks,

Mark Buse

OBAMA'S BIG OIL SPILL BUNGLE By DICK MORRIS

Published on TheHill.com on June 29, 2010

Printer-Friendly Version

It's one thing to say that Obama's administration showed ineptitude and mismanagement in its handling of the Gulf oil spill. It is quite another to grasp the situation up close, as I did during a recent visit to Alabama.

According to state disaster relief officials, Alabama conceived a plan -- early on -- to erect huge booms offshore to shield the approximately 200 miles of the state's coastline from oil. Rather than install the relatively light and shallow booms in use elsewhere, the state (with assistance from the Coast Guard) canvassed the world and located enough huge, heavy booms -- some weighing tons and seven meters high -- to guard their coast.

But...no sooner were the booms in place than the Coast Guard, perhaps under pressure from the public comments of James Carville, uprooted them and moved them to guard the Louisiana coastline instead.

So Alabama decided on a backup plan. It would buy snare booms to catch the oil as it began to wash up on the beaches.

But...the Fish and Wildlife Administration vetoed the plan, saying it would endanger sea turtles that nest on the beaches.

So Alabama -- ever resourceful -- decided to hire 400 workers to patrol the beaches in person, scooping up oil that had washed ashore.

But...OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration) refused to allow them to work more than 20 minutes out of every hour and required an hourlong break after 40 minutes of work, so the cleanup proceeded at a very slow pace.

The short answer is that every agency -- each with its own particular bureaucratic agenda -- was able to veto each aspect of any plan to fight the spill, with the unintended consequence that nothing stopped the oil from destroying hundreds of miles of wetlands, habitats, beaches, fisheries and recreational facilities.

Where was the president? Why did he not intervene in these and countless other bureaucratic controversies to force a focus on the oil, not on the turtles and other incidental concerns?

According to Alabama Gov. Bob Riley, the administration's "lack of ability has become transparent" in its handling of the oil spill. He notes that one stellar exception has been Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, without whom, he says, nothing whatever would have gotten done.

Eventually, the state stopped listening to federal agencies and just has gone ahead and given funds directly to the local folks fighting the spill rather than paying attention to the directives of the Unified Command. Apparently, there is a world of difference between the competence of the Coast Guard and the superb and efficient regular Navy and military.

Now the greatest crisis of all looms on the horizon as hurricanes sweep into the Gulf. Should one hit offshore, it will destroy all the booms that have been placed to stop the oil from reaching shore. And there are no more booms anywhere in the world, according to
Alabama disaster relief officials. "There is no more inventory of booms anywhere on earth," one told me in despair.

The political impact of this incompetence has only just begun to be felt. While administration operatives are flying high after a week in which the president's ratings rebounded to 49 percent, per Rasmussen, after his firing of Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the oil is still gushing and the situation is about to worsen.

The obvious fact is that Obama has no executive experience, nor do any of his top advisers.

Without a clear mandate from the top, needed efforts to salvage the situation are repeatedly stymied by well-meaning bureaucrats strictly following the letter of their agency policy and federal law.

The result, ironically, of their determined efforts to protect the environment has been the greatest environmental disaster in history. But some turtles are OK!

Jim Waring Gathers Another Major Endorsement, Gaining Momentum

Phoenix, AZ June 29th, 2010 – Jim Waring, candidate for Congressional District 3, announced today that he has received the endorsement of the Arizona Police Association.

“Mr. Waring has been a true supporter of the citizens of Arizona and the law enforcement community in particular. He has provided the association with a clear understanding of the social and economic issues facing this country and has provided us with a clear statement of position on where he will be on several major issues,” said Executive Director Brian Livingston.

The Association’s statement went on to read, “endorsing Mr. Waring recognizes and appreciates his long support for the law enforcement community, his commitment to conservative budgetary principles and his willingness to discuss his views on national law enforcement and border security, international affairs, and the current national budget. The association believes Sen. Waring’s accomplishments at the state level, as a member of the legislature, is a true indicator of what type of legislator he will be in Washington as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Waring added, “I am honored to have the support of the Arizona Police Association. They are an important part of our Arizona’s safety network."

The Arizona Police Association, is an association that represents 18 individual police, detention, correction and border patrol associations and which counts approximately 9000 individual members from across the great state of Arizona.

Jim Waring has also received endorsements and PAC support from the Arizona Association of Realtors, Arizona Builders Alliance, Arizona Credit Union League & Affiliates, and American Dental PAC.

Earth to Obama: "Stop Spending!" By Bill Wilson

06/29/2010

CNBC commentator Rick Santelli has a very simple solution to the nation’s fiscal and economic woes for Barack Obama and Congress: “Stop spending!” Speaking on Squawk Box on Monday, Santelli noted the cool reception that Obama received this past weekend at the G20 summit in Toronto that sought to address the sovereign debt crisis.

Unfortunately, Obama is apparently the only leader on Earth who doesn’t think there is an overspending problem with government. Despite a $13 trillion national debt at home, he urged world leaders to ratchet up the deficit-spending — only to find that the world has gone chilly on the idea of “stimulus” in the wake of the debt crisis.

As Santelli stated, “[German Chancellor] Merkel’s done, Europe’s done, because the voting electorate has said they’re done.” On the domestic front, Santelli also pointed out that the American people want Congress to end “stimulus”, too: “[Government] did [step in]. And a couple of trillion dollars later, they’re done, because the taxpayers are the people voting, and they’re done.”

Now someone just needs to tell Obama.

In a June 16th letter to G20 leaders, Obama warned that governments must “learn from the consequential mistakes of the past when stimulus was too quickly withdrawn”. Instead, leaders fearful of default fortunately resolved to “avoid leaving future generations with a legacy of deficits and debt” and adopted a proposal by Canada Prime Minister Stephen Harper to cut deficits in half by 2013.

Obama had touted a similar “commitment” in his letter to world leaders, although he’s comparing the 2009 increase in the national debt of $1.911 trillion to his proposed $1.117 trillion increase for 2013. Which is not at all reassuring when he talks about “setting a credible medium-term fiscal path”.

The truth is that it’s hardly credible.

The best Obama could get from the G20 was an acknowledgment of last year’s “big plan” for the world to spend its way to recovery — even as the statement went on to declare that that plan is all but dead. The G20 warned that if action is not taken, “fiscal deficits and debt in some advanced economies [will] reach unacceptably high levels.”

Obama settled on language that offered him some cover for his present political slush fund, which called for governments to “follow through on delivering existing stimulus plans.” In other words, not to divert the monies that already were committed. Which, for Europe, is no problem, since they’ve already run out of money.

The effect, however, was to reduce the leader of the free world to a meaningless footnote in an otherwise serious multilateral policy declaration, the substance of which aired on the side of fiscal consolidation. Everyone gets it but Obama. All he did was muddy up the language.

While the rest of the world is taking on the grave and growing problem of unsustainable sovereign debt, Obama calls for more spending. He has asked Congress for another $47 billion to balance state budgets this year, including $23 billion to bail out unsustainable public school spending.

Congress has not yet bitten, however, feeling the pressure of taxpayers. So, Obama whittled down the state education bailout to $10 billion, and wants it attached to a must-pass war supplemental. He still doesn’t get it.

Santelli is right. With the threat of default looming over the world’s economy, taxpayers are done — with deficit-spending.

McCAIN CAMPAIGN UNEARTHS SECOND HAYWORTH INFOMERCIAL

PHOENIX, AZ -- U.S. Senator John McCain’s re-election campaign today unearthed a never-before-seen second infomercial starring Congressman J.D. Hayworth.

**Watch newly unearthed second infomercial starring Congressman Hayworth here**

This new, never-before-seen second infomercial features Congressman Hayworth along with a who’s-who of infomercial royalty, including Matthew Lesko, Ron Popeil and Miss Cleo.

The new infomercial is apparently based on his original starring role in the National Grants Conferences infomercial
revealed last week, in which Congressman Hayworth pitched “free government money” for a shady company that ripped people off.

**Watch highlights from Hayworth’s “free government money” infomercial revealed last week
here**

Hayworth responded to the revelation by coldly brushing off anyone who might have been scammed of our their money,
arguing that his own word can’t be trusted by saying,

“I always say about any product or service, one of the staples I learned growing up is ‘caveat emptor’ -- ‘buyer beware.’”

Hayworth further
said he had “no regrets” about filming the infomercial, saying, “It’s not something I’m ashamed of.”

Reaction to Hayworth’s first infomercial was swift and severe, with conservatives outraged that a candidate running as a fiscal hawk would shill for “free government money” in an obvious scam. Glenn Beck
has twice in the last week ripped into Hayworth and declared his U.S. Senate campaign “over.”

Conservatives at the
Wall Street Journal, National Review, Weekly Standard, and American Spectator have all blasted Congressman Hayworth.

McCain 2010 Communications Director Brian Rogers issued the following statement on the new Hayworth infomercial unearthed today:

“Congressman Hayworth used his title to hawk ‘free government money’ for personal profit for a company that ripped people off. When informed of the facts, Hayworth simply said, ‘buyer beware.’ When it comes to Congressman Hayworth, ‘voters beware.’”

Bill Konopnicki voted Best Republican Representative for the 49th Legislature - Eastern Arizona Courier

With an open door and a thoughtful approach to complex issues, Bill Konopnicki has been seen for much of his eight years in the House as a problem-solver by those angling to keep their ox from getting gored.

A McDonald’s franchisee and owner of several radio stations in rural Arizona, Konopnicki’s public service began long before he came to the Legislature.

A former college administrator, Konopnicki led the charge to expand higher education in eastern Arizona.

Along the way, he served for 12 years on the Safford Unified School District Governing Board and was president of Mount Graham Medical Center Board.

The effect those jobs have had on his legislative career is clear, as he has relentlessly worked to protect education and health care, especially, in rural parts of the state.

Konopnicki said, “I am honored to receive this award. It reflects my hard work in representing rural Arizona and District 5.”

As the 'leader' of the 'McCain Mafia', we find it funny that the 'Social Media Director' of the J.D. "Huckster" Hayworth campaign gives US the credit for McCain's endorsement by the National Review yesterday:

It is very likely the McCain mafia, which threatens people to get what they want (I have been personally threatened three times, and the
unofficial McCain blog in Arizona, Politico Mafioso, just
blatantly revised his banner to say "Leader of the McCain Mafia," below), demanded that National Review post another endorsement.

Thanks for the props Rachel. I didn't know we had that much power? LMAO!

Scott Brown outpolls Kerry, Obama

Most popular official in survey; For incumbents, message is mixed

By Matt Viser and Frank Phillips
Globe Staff /
June 28, 2010

US Senator Scott Brown, who only months ago was a little-known figure even within the tiny band of Republicans in the state Senate, not only catapulted to national stature with his upset US Senate victory, but is today the most popular officeholder in Massachusetts, according to a Boston Globe poll.

After less than five months in Washington, Brown outpolls such Democratic stalwarts as President Obama and US Senator John F. Kerry in popularity, the poll indicates. He gets high marks not
only from Republicans, but even a plurality of Democrats views him
favorably.

The support for Brown, whose victory became a symbol of voter anger, is consistent with widespread sentiment that incumbents in Massachusetts and Washington “need to be replaced with a new crop of leaders.’’ That statement was supported by 50 percent of those polled, while 28 percent said they trust the incumbents.

Obama administration has disastrously mishandled Ariz. immigration situation (Rep. Trent Franks)

Obama administration has disastrously mishandled Ariz. immigration situation (Rep. Trent Franks)

By Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) - 06/25/10 09:13 AM ET

Late last week, news broke that the Justice Department, at the direction of the Obama administration, would be suing Arizona for its recent immigration bill, S.B. 1070. This move was yet another misstep in what has been a disastrous mishandling of Arizona's considerable illegal immigration problem.

Indeed, the Obama Administration even mishandled the very announcement of the lawsuit, with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leaking the information during her appearance on an Ecuadorean news program. Instead of calling the Governor of Arizona (or any Arizona official, for that matter) directly, the people of Arizona had to find out this news secondhand, after the U.S. secretary of state publicly bragged about the decision to the people of Ecuador.

Such talk of lawsuits is not new. A few days after the Arizona law was passed, Attorney General Eric Holder called the bill "unfortunate" and said the Department of Justice was considering a lawsuit. Shortly thereafter, he added a bit of information he initially neglected: He hadn't even read the bill — all 10 pages of it. Likewise, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano called the bill "misguided" and "bad enforcement law," before admitting that SHE hadn't read the bill either.

The entire Obama administration has been passionately opposed to the contents of the bill. They just couldn't bother themselves to find out what the contents actually were. But nearly all of the bluster surrounding the Arizona immigration bill has been grounded firmly in an ignorance of what the bill actually says.

Critics claim that the law promotes racial profiling, yet the law expressly prohibits racial profiling four separate times.

Critics claim that the law requires non-citizens to carry identification that they otherwise wouldn’t be required to carry. But federal law has required this of non-citizens since 1940! Somehow, after 70 years on the books, this law has now become a problem, with opponents of the Arizona law deeming it “racial profiling,” and turning it into a political football.

Additionally, critics claim that the law requires police officers to stop people on the streets to question them about their immigration status. In fact, this provision of the law only takes effect if a police officer has already made a “lawful stop, detention or arrest ... in the enforcement of any other law or ordinance.”

In passing S.B. 1070, Arizona took a necessary step to address the porous border that has for so long been neglected by the federal government. In Arizona alone, over 1,000 illegal border crossings occur per day, and 87 percent of those people crossing have criminal records, according to the Arizona Governor's office.

We would also be well served to remember that at least five of the Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were in the United States illegally. Truly, border security and national security are inextricably linked. Much like the Obama administration has failed to address our porous border, they also continue to stand by while the radical Iranian regime, the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism, continues to pursue a nuclear weapons capability unabated. We must realize that even one nuclear warhead provided by a rogue nation like Iran and smuggled over our largely unguarded southern border could change the face of the world as we know it, claiming tens of thousands of innocent American lives. Yet, somehow, this administration still fails to see the necessity of border security, attempting instead to score cheap political points with symbolic gestures.

After Arizona's immigration bill passed and polls indicated that the nation overwhelmingly supported it, President Obama announced that he had suddenly, finally decided to direct 1,200 National Guard
troops to America's southern border. Even though the number of troops was drastically less than the 6,000 I, along with Arizona Sens. Jon Kyl (R) and John McCain (R), had requested, the move still sounded great on paper. However, it was then revealed that the 1,200 troops in question would almost exclusively be "boots on the desk," as opposed to actual "boots on the ground" manning the border. Furthermore, the troops would only actually be sent to the border if and when the president decided it was a necessity, once again demonstrating the president's failure to realize that the border is an issue NOW, and cannot wait until he finally decides the issue is worth addressing.

Of course, even if all 6,000 requested troops are sent, our border problems will not be completely resolved, thanks again to dramatic failures by the federal government.
The tragic death of Arizona rancher Robert Krentz made national news last month.
The drug smuggler who shot Mr. Krentz in cold blood entered the nation through the San Bernardino Wildlife Refuge. Just this year, that same refuge spent $200,000 paid for by Democrats' failed, so-called stimulus to build fences that would keep Border Patrol agents OUT of the wildlife refuge.

Today, about 40 percent of the land from California to El Paso, Texas, is controlled by the federal government, much of it in the form of protected wildlife areas and national parks. Many of these
cannot even be patrolled by Border Patrol agents because of fears that a plant or animal's habitat might somehow be harmed.

To add insult to injury, it was recently revealed that two federal agencies are participating in boycotts of Arizona, ostensibly to "punish" Arizona for its necessary immigration law.

If Arizona waits for the federal government to address our border issues, we are ignored. If we take matters into our own hands, we are sued and boycotted by our own government for having the audacity to protect our citizens. This lawsuit and these boycotts completely disprove the Obama administration's disingenuous claims that they are in any way interested in strengthening border security.

Congressman Franks is serving his fourth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, and is a member of the Committee on Armed Services, Strategic Forces Subcommittee, Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee, Military Readiness Subcommittee, Committee on the Judiciary, Constitution Subcommittee, and is Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law.

National Review Endorses Sen. John McCain For Re-Election

“[W]hen McCain is right he can have a terrific impact. McCain has a
credibility on national security that few other Republicans can match. It is

ignominy. Few legislators ever accomplish as much good as McCain did through his

That Hayworth appeared in infomercials to tell people how to get ‘free money’ from the government underscores the point rather emphatically. … If ever we needed legislators who favor a resolute foreign
policy and budget restraint, that time is now.” – National Review

Editorial

National Review

June 28, 2010

That this magazine has not always agreed with Sen. John McCain’s judgments is an understatement. For a few years at the start of the decade, not an issue went by, it seemed, without our feeling obligated to criticize the Arizona Republican. That conservatives in his state should be in the market for a senator who agrees with them more consistently is not remarkable.

But there are three considerations that militate against dumping McCain for his primary challenger, former congressman J. D. Hayworth.

The first is that McCain has usually been on the conservative side of national controversies.

He has never voted for a broad-based tax increase, he has voted for every conservative on the Supreme Court, and he has a long pro-life record.

By itself this voting record does not compel conservative support for him: Hayworth had a conservative record, too. But it does make the case against McCain less compelling. He may not be Marco Rubio, but he’s not Arlen Specter either.

Second, when McCain is right he can have a terrific impact. McCain has a credibility on national security that few other Republicans can match.

It is entirely possible that without Senator McCain we would have left Iraq in ignominy. Few legislators ever accomplish as much good as McCain did through his leadership on the surge.

Conservatives should be grateful for this service and appreciative of the wisdom and fortitude that made it possible. This accomplishment, in our judgment, more than makes up for McCain’s mistakes, the impact of which has also been major (as in the cases of campaign-finance regulation and interrogation policy).

Third, Hayworth is, to say the least, not obviously a more exemplary statesman than McCain.

On one of the most pressing issues of the day — the need to control federal spending — McCain has had the better record. That Hayworth appeared in infomercials to tell people how to get “free money” from the government underscores the point rather emphatically. If McCain had a different challenger, we might think differently.

But, taken together, these considerations move us to suggest that Arizona Republicans nominate Senator McCain. If ever we needed legislators who favor a resolute foreign policy and budget restraint, that time is now.
