National Review Endorses Senator John McCain For Re-Election

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: National Review Endorses Senator John McCain For Re-Election

“[McCain] has had a pretty conservative record and is an important voice for the War on Terror and for spending control. (It was McCain, not Hayworth, who voted against Bush’s prescription-drug bill as a budget buster.) We hope that Arizona Republicans make sure that his voice will continue to be heard in D.C.” – National Review

From the June 7, 2010 issue

Sen. John McCain of Arizona, facing a primary challenge from former congressman J.D. Hayworth, has been moving right, not always gracefully. His latest ad calls for building “the danged fence” on the Mexican border. Arizona conservatives should be glad that he has come around.

McCain can be a pain in the neck – just look through our back issues from 2000 through 2003 to see what we mean.

But he has had a pretty conservative record and is an important voice for the War on Terror and for spending control. (It was McCain, not Hayworth, who voted against Bush’s prescription-drug bill as a budget buster.)

We hope that Arizona Republicans make sure that his voice will continue to be heard in D.C.
