State Rep. CARL SEEL has introduced Bill # HB2691 , which if passed, would take away the right of replacing State Legislators that quit, from the Elected Precinct Committeeman in that Legislative District, and give the power to the EGC of the county where the vacancy occurs.
With the recent resignations of Sen's. Waring, Gorman, & Rep. Crump, all these vacancies occurred in Maricopa County.
Who would Seel put in charge of replacing these legislators? ROB HANEY, Fuehrer of the MCRC (Maricopa County Ron Haney Committee) who had endorsed Seel for his house seat back in 2008.
We ran a story back in January, "RULES ON REPLACING ARIZONA LEGISLATORS WHO RESIGN!" that showed just how the replacements would be chosen. Why would Seel not trust the PC's who were elected by the voters of each Precinct? The answer.....Seel wanted the LD-6 Senate seat and he knew there was no way the PC's would EVER choose him.
This is the same Carl Seel who, after a recent Finance Committee meeting, asked some of his colleagues, "What is ACCRUAL"? (which is the accounting method the state uses).
In another committee meeting, Seel wondered what "Black Friday" was? One of Seel's fellow Legislators said,
"It's OK, Carl only makes $24,000.00 a year, he
doesn't do much shopping"!
This from someone who sits on the Finance & Banking Committees? No wonder the state has the financial problems it does with morons like Seel in the Legislature!
