An interesting article in today's 'Arizona Republic' talks about the recent disputed Jan. 13 presidential "straw poll" of Maricopa County Republican activists. A new, scientific poll was taken: The Cronkite/Eight Poll. Here are the results:
ASK REPUBLICANS : If the Republican primary for president in Arizona comes down to a choice between California Congressman Duncan Hunter, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich or Senator John McCain, who would you probably vote for?
McCain - 54%
Gingrich - 14%
Romney - 9%
Hunter - 2%
No opinion - 21%
The survey's Republican sample has a margin of error of plus or minus 6.3 percentage points and 3.9 percentage points overall.
