Friends, family and supporters,
I am humbled to be honored with the 2013 Copper Shield Award, bestowed by the Arizona Veteran’s Hall of Fame Society for helping the state’s veterans, military service members, their families and survivors. I take great pride in doing everything I can to assist those who serve our nation, many of whom sacrifice their lives to do so. This honor is shared in spirit with each of them, and each of their loved-ones who also sacrifice daily to defend the United States.
This award will be presented on February 13 at the Tempe Mission Palms Resort. I share the honors with ASU president Michael Crow, who will be receiving the Copper Sword award for his work on behalf of our military and veterans. Additionally, ASU has been named a military friendly school for 2013 by GI Jobs magazine.
