Senator McCain endorses Mike Hellon in Pima County District 1 race -The Explorer

U.S. Senator and former Republican nominee for President John McCain announced today his endorsement of Mike Hellon to replace retiring Supervisor Ann Day in District 1 of the Pima County Board of Supervisors.

Sen. McCain said his endorsement of Mike Hellon in the Aug. 28 Republican primary was based on the fact that Hellon was "clearly the most qualified and best person to represent the citizens of Pima County District 1 on the Board of Supervisors."

"Mike Hellon has been a friend for many years. I am happy to support him and look forward to working with him on issues of importance to Pima County," McCain said.

Hellon said he was honored "to have Sen. McCain support me in my campaign to change the culture of Pima County Government. John McCain is the embodiment of public service and his endorsement, like all of the support I have received in my campaign, is a public trust that I will work every day to uphold."

Sen. McCain joins Sen. Jon Kyl in endorsing Mike Hellon for Supervisor. Other endorsements include the Tucson Chamber of Commerce, the Pima County Deputy Sheriff's Association and many others at the local, state and national level.
