Dishonest Dave:
In 2011, Dave argued against a payroll tax cut extension because he said it would add to the national debt.
Calling it "very dangerous policy" and "generational theft," Schweikert wrote in an op-ed for the US News and World Report: "A temporary payroll tax holiday, without any mention of tax reform, is no more than a Washington stimulus that increases our national debt."
The Reality:
Dave, alone among Arizona Republicans, voted for this non-growth, deficit-expanding policy that is contrary to sound economic and tax policy and increased the federal deficit by $100 billion.
He also voted to raid the Social Security trust fund and he voted to raise the federal deficit to $1.2 trillion in FY2012.
