Citizens Against Government Waste PAC Endorses Jeff Flake for Senate

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) today endorsed Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), who, after 12 sterling years of service in the United States House of Representatives, is running in Arizona's August 28 U.S. Senate primary.

"I am pleased to announce that Rep. Flake is our first congressional endorsement of 2012. In this time of massive new government spending, huge budget deficits, mounting public debt, and inefficient bureaucracy, taxpayers need friends in Washington who will defend their interests, not the special interests," said Tom Schatz, chairman of CCAGW PAC. "His bona fides as a fiscal conservative cannot be challenged by his opponent in the primary. Rep. Flake has consistently proven his unparalleled commitment to reducing the size of government by eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse.

"Rep. Flake's principled advocacy of lower taxes and smaller government has made him one of the taxpayers' greatest allies in Washington. He received a score of 100 percent in CCAGW's 2010 Congressional Ratings, earning him the rank of Taxpayer Super Hero for the fifth time in nine years. He has a lifetime CCAGW rating of 98 percent, second best in the House and Senate combined.

"For many years, Rep. Flake led an often lonely battle to abolish pork-barrel spending by offering dozens of amendments to eliminate earmarks. It is no exaggeration to say that the current moratorium on earmarks would not have occurred without his efforts, and he is now pushing to make it permanent. On a larger scale, the culture of wasteful spending in the nation's capital still needs to be transformed, and Rep. Flake will play a key role in that battle in the Senate, where far less has been done to cut out the fat. On August 28 and again on November 6, 2012, voters in Arizona should vote for Rep. Flake so that he can continue his fight for fiscally conservative principles that are vital to all taxpayers, the most overlooked interest group of them all," concluded Schatz.

CCAGW PAC is affiliated with the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, a 501(c)(4) organization. CCAGW PAC's mission is to support political candidates who will fight to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government and represent the best interests of taxpayers.
