Dear Friends,
The Supreme Court is poised to rule on the constitutionality of Obamacare in
the next two weeks, but there’s no question where the American public stands on
President Obama’s trademark legislation.
Last Thursday, a
New York Times/CBS News poll showed that more than two-thirds of
all Americans, and more than 70 percent of independents, want the Court to
strike down Obamacare’s individual mandate. A new
Rasmussen Poll released today reflected similar findings, showing that
53 percent of likely voters support Obamacare’s overall
repeal.
Controversy swirls around the constitutionality of the individual mandate,
which would force all Americans to pay a penalty if they do not have private or
government-sponsored healthcare by 2014. The U.S. Constitution does not
authorize the federal government to mandate that Americans purchase a private
product like health insurance.
Here’s what Congressman Quayle has to say about the individual mandate:

unconstitutional? Sign
