Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery endorses Michael Monti for Tempe Mayor

(Tempe, Arizona) Another leader in law enforcement in Arizona is endorsing Michael Monti for Tempe Mayor. Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery has endorsed businessman and candidate for Tempe Mayor Michael Monti. He joins Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne in endorsing Monti.

Montgomery, whose office prosecutes more than 35,000 felony cases a year, has made holding criminals accountable for their crimes and victims’ rights his priorities as County Attorney.

Montgomery said,

“As a businessman, a family man, and a civically involved member of his community, Michael understands effective and fair law enforcement is essential to protect the quality of life in Tempe, as well as the rest of the Valley. He also supports my efforts to reform rules for elected officials to prevent another Fiesta Bowl scandal.”

Monti, Montgomery, and Tempe Mayor High Hallman recently held a news conference announcing proposed gift bans and stricter reporting requirements for elected officials in Tempe.

Monti stated,

“I am honored to have endorsements from the state’s top two prosecutors. Mr. Montgomery’s endorsement reflects my unwavering support for law enforcement and the fair administering of justice in our community.”

Michael Monti, owner of Tempe’s historic Monti’s La Casa Vieja, co-founded Local First, Arizona. He is also active in the Tempe Diablos Charities, and is the youngest inductee in the Arizona Restaurant Association’s Hall of Fame.
