District 20 Chair's "Level Best" Not Good Enough

I pick on district 20 for two reasons:

1) It's Tom Morrissey's home district, and the leadership there are all his hand-picked stooges, and therefore a reflection of him. It's also the home district of Mark Spinks, noted criminal, serial business failure, and AZ GOP paid staffer.

2) They are the poster child for the recent wave of stupidity in the Arizona GOP. District 20 was a well-run district that has now been overrun by political novices and "Tea Partiers" and is being run into the ground.

In the wake of mass resignations a few months back (after most of the decent people decided that dealing with the Tea Party children was not worth their time) Ahwatukee Tea Party Founder Jeni White ascended to the Chairmanship of the district. She was later voted in during a poorly attended meeting in which she was the only candidate.

In an email addressing the chaotic nature of the district she had this to say:

I believe that the greatest contributor to our present circumstances is an absence of clear communication. This must change, and I pledge to you that I will do my level best to ensure that it does.

Emphasis mine.

So how has the new regime fared in their quest to undo all that was wrong through "clear communication?"

Not so well, actually.

They haven't sent out one email to the district since January. The website hasn't been updated in almost a month. Same with their Twitter and Facebook pages.

The result of the Chairman White's election are nowhere to be found.

Last week the district met to elect a nomination committee to fill the half of the board positions that are still vacant. Who was elected? If you weren't at the meeting, good luck finding out. (And since they barely had a quorum present, that means that the majority of the district is unaware of what happened.)

Back when the losers from the establishment were in charge of the district, they would send out election results on the night of the election, or at the latest the next morning. They also sent out meeting agendas and reminders before each meeting. But they were the establishment, so they had to go.

The group of novices now running district 20 went into the elections with mountain sized chips on their shoulders. They acted like they knew everything, and could do it better than everyone else.

Now they are in charge, and the results have been predictable- to anyone who has been involved in politics for more than 6 months, anyway.

Chairman White- you promised to do your 'level best'. Well, that's apparently not good enough. It's too bad that you and your cronies alienated half the district in your quest for power. If you'd behaved better, you'd probably find more people willing to help you out.

Too bad you chose the path you did.
