PHOENIX – Republican Attorney General nominee Tom Horne has increased his lead from 8 percentage points a month ago to 18 percentage points in a poll conducted October 5 to October 6 and released today by Wilson Research Strategies, a nationally recognized polling firm. A summary of the poll is attached.
"My message of securing the border, defending S.B. 1070 against the Obama legal assault, protecting consumers, and creating a positive legal climate for job creation is resonating very well with Arizonans," Horne said. "Arizonans want an Attorney General who listens to them and will defend Arizona's laws passionately. Voters are rejecting my opponent's embrace of labor unions that oppose S.B. 1070 and have called for an economic boycott of Arizona. Voters are enthusiastic about my track record of taking on the federal government in court and winning cases that are in the best interests of the taxpayers. This poll reflects the desire of a strong majority of Arizonans that they share my vision for Attorney General."
He added, “Voters are rejecting my opponent's embrace of labor unions that oppose S.B. 1070 and have called for an economic boycott of Arizona. They do not want an Attorney General who is the point person for Obama.”
