ARIZONA SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN ENDORSES BEN QUAYLE FOR CONGRESS; BOTH TO PARTICIPATE IN TOWN HALL MEETING

Phoenix, AZ (October 5, 2010) —Arizona Senator John McCain today announced he is endorsing Ben Quayle, Republican candidate for Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District.

“Ben Quayle has the kind of fighting spirit we need now more than ever in Washington,” said Senator John McCain. “He has the passion and the principles to make a great Congressman and I’m confident he will do what’s right for Arizona.”

Ben Quayle and Senator McCain along with Janet Contreras, Congressional candidate in Arizona’s 4th district, participated in a North Phoenix Town Hall last night.

“I am honored and humbled to have the support of Senator McCain, who has dedicated his life to public service and to the people of Arizona,” said Quayle. “His courage in the Vietnam War and his tenacity in Washington have long been an inspiration to millions of Americans, including me, and I'm grateful for his vote of confidence,” he added.

Senator John McCain has a long-standing and noble career of leadership and experience in public service. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in Arizona in 1982. He was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1986 after serving two terms in the U.S. House. Senator McCain currently serves on the following committees: Ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee; Committee on Energy and Natural Resources; Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Committee on Homeland Security and Committee on Indian Affairs. The DCCC and Congressman Harry Mitchell have gone negative with false attacks because they don't have a leg of their own to stand on.

The good news is that the truth is on our side.

All their mudslinging has been called “false” by the local press. Congressman Mitchell's lockstep liberal record speaks for itself - - he’s a die-hard leftist, as much as he wants to run from that fact.

Our challenge is turning out the vote for our side. That's where I need your help. We cannot allow Nancy Pelosi to win in Arizona.

With 27 days to go, I need you to contribute a minimum of $27 right now.

Your help is vital.

We cannot win without the resources to deliver our message and get out the vote.

Mail trucks will be backing up to loading docks at Arizona post offices in less than 24 hours to deliver our early ballots.

This could be as much as 60% of our vote here in CD5.
When you receive your early ballot, turn it in ASAP. Please tell others to do the same.

If you’ve been keeping your powder dry, today is the day you must engage.

Without the funds to drive our strategy, the Democrats could take ground, and we cannot let that happen.
The campaign has had an incredibly successful quarter.

We've met every single one of our aggressive fundraising goals.

In the next few hours, we need to build the resources to deliver the next step. Can David count on your support today?

Your participation is urgently needed in this election. Please donate to help David’s efforts to take back Congress from Nancy Pelosi and the far left.

We know what's at stake and we can't effort to lose this fight.

Staying on the fence is not an option. The Democrats are organized and they are in the streets. David’s campaign needs your support today.

Just look at what the liberals have done to our country... We deserve better!

David Schweikert believes in the American people and is optimistic that with the right kind of pro-growth change, we can still have a very strong economic recovery.

That starts with replacing Congressman Harry Mitchell and his extremely liberal agenda.

America has always been the land of opportunity. But politicians in the past few years have abandoned the kinds of policies that lead to prosperity and economic growth – choosing instead, the heavy handed central government model that has engulfed so much of Europe over the past century.

In order to find our way back, I'm counting on your support today.
Contributing a minimum of $27 to David Schweikert in the next few minutes will help significantly.

We cannot let the liberals win here in Arizona. The future of our country, and the very fabric of who we are as a People is in the balance.

Please contribute a minimum of $27 today.

Paul Gosar poses big challenge for incumbent Ann Kirkpatrick

The Arizona Republic

PEEPLES VALLEY - At a recent calf sale in this community southwest of Prescott, 80-year-old Murray Rubin ambled over to congressional candidate Paul Gosar with a blunt message:

"I don't know how good you are," the Prescott Valley man said, "but you've got to be better than the alternative."

Like many voters across the country, Rubin is angry about passage of changes to the health-care system. Others bristle at the federal stimulus.
As a Democrat who voted for both measures, Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, Gosar's opponent, is feeling the brunt of those complaints as she tries to hold onto a seat she first won two years ago.

In the eyes of political handicappers, Kirkpatrick is among the most endangered incumbents in Congress. In 2008, she benefited from voter dismay at the indictment of Rick Renzi, a Republican who represented Arizona's 1st Congressional District for six years, and a desire for political change in a crumbling economy.

The mood is different now. Despite a flurry of spending by the federal government, unemployment remains high, at 9.6 percent.
