The day will begin with the Heroes Festival Motorcycle Ride from Cave Creek to Ashley Manor followed by the main event, Heroes Festival, featuring a special tribute to 9/11 heroes, live music and entertainment, brew & food for purchase.
All proceeds from the ride and event registrations will benefit the 100 Club of Arizona, a local non-profit that provides immediate financial support to public safety officers and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty. Event: Massing of the Colors and Service of Remembrance Day

The Phoenix Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW), the Phoenix Union High School District, and Carl Hayden Community High School Junior ROTC cadets host the annual Massing of the Colors and Service of Remembrance ceremony to pay tribute to current active duty and former Arizona veterans who have served in the U.S. armed forces, but to especially recognize those Americans who gave their lives on September 11, 2001.
The “Massing” is a colorful and patriotic celebration which honors everyone who has served our nation during war and peace. Patriotic and service organizations from throughout Arizona are invited to show their solidarity with patriots past and present by bringing their flags and banners to the “Massing.”
The Arizona National Guard’s 108th Army Band will precede the ceremony with martial music which begins at 2 p.m. Students from Project ChalleNGe will present a special moving tribute that recognizes America’s Prisoners of War (POWs) and those who remain Missing in Action (MIAs). The program will conclude by 3:30 p.m.
Scottsdale
Event: Arizona 9/11 Remembrance & National Day of Service Event

The city is paying tribute to those who lost their lives and to the heroes who responded to the catastrophic events of 9/11. The Scottsdale 9/11 Day of Remembrance is a a free community event. Activities include the reading of victims' names followed by a 6 p.m. program featuring a keynote speaker, city dignitaries, a candlelight vigil and patriotic music by the Coronado High School Varsity Chorus and Advanced Vocal Ensemble. Exhibits will be on display at noon Friday, Sept. 10, in the Performing Arts' Atrium. They include a 9/11 Memorial Wall with 2,996 full-color memorial cards with biographical information and a photograph of each of the fallen victims and a National Unity Flag, standing nearly three-stories high and signed by the U.S. Senate in 2002.
Tempe

The Valley of the Sun Exchange Clubs Foundation and the City of Tempe present this seventh annual event, where nearly 3,000 American flags will fly in the park – one for every person who perished as a result of the terrorist attacks on our nation on Sept. 11, 2001. Join community leaders, public safety members, neighbors and other valley citizens for a walk of remembrance through the memorial. A brief commemoration, including presenting of the colors, invocation, and the reading of the names of the first responders who died on Sept. 11, 2001, will be held Saturday, Sept. 11 at 5:46 a.m.
A candlelight vigil with music, prayer and guest speakers will occur at 7 p.m.
United Blood Services will be conducting blood drives on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside their bloodmobile at Tempe Beach Park.
In addition to all the firefighting vehicles and memorabilia, you can also see a permanent exhibit at the Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting commemorating fallen firefighter heroes, including those that perished on 9/11.
Sun Devil football to salute troops at Sept. 11 game

Sun Devil Athletics, in conjunction with Fox Sports Arizona and KTAR, is proud to announce our Salute to our Troops. On Sept. 11 for the game against NAU at 7 p.m., ASU and its media partners will donate a ticket to the Veteran Tickets Foundation for every ticket purchased. The Veteran Tickets Foundation is a program dedicated to giving back to those who gave by providing tickets to athletics events to active duty military, veterans and/or their family members.
"As a community owned asset, it is our pleasure to partner with the Veteran Tickets Foundation in order to thank our troops and their families," said Lisa Love, Vice President for University Athletics, "I hope that our community embraces this program and we are able to
fill Sun Devil Stadium with those that have given so much to defend our freedom."
You can be a part of the Sun Devils Salute to the Troops by purchasing a ticket for the ASU vs. Northern Arizona game on Sept. 11. Sun Devil Athletics has guaranteed a minimum of 1,000 tickets to the Veteran Tickets Foundation but will match every ticket purchased with a donated ticket.
