PINAL SHERIFF BABEU ENDORSES HORNE
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, a leading voice on border security, is endorsing Republican Tom Horne in his race for Attorney General.
"Arizona must have an Attorney General who will energetically defend S.B. 1070 in federal court and who is wholeheartedly committed to fighting illegal immigration and the drug cartels," said Babeu. "Tom Horne supports S.B. 1070 and he has the courtroom experience to back up his commitment to fighting the scourge of illegal immigration and the crime it breeds. Pinal County is part of the main corridor for drug traffickers and human smugglers in the United States, and as the Sheriff I need to know the Arizona Attorney General will back my deputies and me in our efforts to enforce the law. Clearly Tom Horne is the best choice as Attorney General. By contrast, Democrat Felecia Rotellini has publicly stated that she opposes S.B. 1070 and she has the campaign support of unions that actively work for amnesty for illegal immigrants. Her commitment to border security is weak and highly suspect, and I don't believe she can be trusted to adequately defend the interests of Arizonans as Attorney General."
Horne stated, "Sheriff Paul Babeu is on the front line of defense in our battle against drug cartels and illegal immigration. He and his deputies risk their lives every day to face down violent border criminals who use Pinal County as a conduit for their illegal activities. I am grateful for his support and as Attorney General, I look forward to working with him to make sure Arizonans are protected."
