Franks Calls on Administration to Recognize Israel's Right to Build Settlements

September 28, 2010 - Following the expiration of Israel's self-imposed moratorium halting the construction of new Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) today released the following statement:

"Upon the lapsing of the moratorium on new settlements, State Department representatives expressed the Obama Administration's 'disappointment' that Israel would resume its construction of houses in the West Bank. Unfortunately, I believe the Administration's disappointment is seriously misdirected.

"Comments such as those coming from the State Department are not at all unexpected, as the Obama Administration has consistently shown an unprecedented degree of antagonism toward Israel. A few months ago, the Administration chastised Israel for building homes in Jerusalem, despite the fact that Jerusalem is not a settlement, but the capital of the nation of Israel, which was founded and built by the ancient people of Israel 3000 years ago.
"Indeed, it is highly ironic and bewildering that Israel has received more open rebuke from the Obama administration for plans to build houses in Jerusalem than the Iranian regime that threatens Israel with annihilation has received for building a secret uranium enrichment facility to produce nuclear weapons.
"As Israelis celebrate their ability to resume construction on the thousands of dwellings that have sat unfinished throughout this moratorium, I urge President Obama to at long last embrace, rather than alienate, the most vital ally America has in the world."

Congressman Franks is serving his fourth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, and is a member of the Committee on Armed Services, Strategic Forces Subcommittee, Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee, Military Readiness Subcommittee, Committee on the Judiciary, Constitution Subcommittee, and is Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law.
"This moratorium has shown which party is truly serious about peace negotiations. While Israel reaches out with olive branches (including voluntarily adopting this moratorium) as they have so many times in the past, Palestinian President Abbas has indicated that he might not even be willing to resume talks, if Israel doesn't halt construction in the West Bank.

Gosar Slams Kirkpatrick for Legislative Slump

Rep. Kirkpatrick May Suffer for Legislative Slump

Monday, 27 Sep 2010 10:32 AM

At first glance, Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., looks highly-accomplished for a freshman, after introducing 30 bills during her first term in Congress. But only two of those bills turned into law, which could make Kirkpatrick’s Republican opponent Paul Goser is playing up the failures, calling her “irrelevant,” according to a The Hill report.

And even her own campaign admits she could be in trouble. Its latest internal poll shows her leading Gosar by only 43 to 39 percent. And her favorability rate stands at just 46 percent.

“Thirty bills introduced and not one her first term her last, The Hill reports.passed? [That] proves she is pretty irrelevant," J.P. Twist, a spokesman for Gosar, told The Hill.

The campaign is busy putting up signs and calling voters. If you would like to help with these important strategies, please contact the following coordinators.

The liberal gremlins are hungry for someone to pay attention to their negative attacks.

They are gasping for air, begging for their falsehoods against David Schweikert to stick, hoping that nobody pays attention to Congressman Mitchell’s liberal record while he was supposed to be our Representative.

Unfortunately, Mitchell and his minions were called on the carpet yesterday by none other than The New York Times for false mudslinging, and on the very front page!

When even The New York Times joins our fight and starts telling the Democrats nationwide to cool it, we know we have a battle to win.

It all comes down to you. We can end the Pelosi pork and Mitchell’s yes-vote in just 35 days with your support right now.

We can have a true economic recovery, we can stop the wasteful spending, we can defend the Constitution, and begin a new era of governance.

It is going to take public officials that have the courage and strength to reign in this federal government and start believing in the American people again.

Shame on Congressman Mitchell and his Democrat bosses for running such a negative campaign…

As Treasurer, chairman of the State Board of Equalization, and Arizona House Majority Whip, David Schweikert earned a reputation for building coalitions to get the job done...

  • He ushered in the largest tax cut in Arizona history.

  • He reduced out of control government spending.

  • He took on the special interests and championed tough ethics reforms.
David Schweikert gets it - - he knows how to create jobs and restore prosperity.

We need to unleash the entrepreneurial genius and innovation of our fellow citizens by removing barriers to free enterprise.

Congressman Mitchell has to go - - it’s plain and simple. He is a huge part of the problem in Washington.

We can’t afford another two years of Pelosi and Obama’s reckless spending.
Just how bad is the Obama, Pelosi, and Mitchell agenda?

It includes more than half a TRILLION dollars in new taxes on the American people.

You’ve got to be kidding me!

Higher taxes in a recession? Congressman Mitchell has no right to increase tax burdens on American families.

The failed stimulus expanded the size of the government by adding over a quarter million new government jobs on the taxpayer dime.

And ObamaCare requires over 15,000 new IRS auditors to collect the hundreds of billions in new taxes on the American people in a struggling economy.

ObamaCare cuts Medicare reimbursements for seniors to pay for more government pork and bureaucracy across the board.

Congressman Mitchell stands with big government bureaucrats and Nancy Pelosi. Not the American people or Arizonans. It’s time for a change.

We need to send Congressman Mitchell and all his high-tax cronies into retirement.
The Schweikert campaign raised almost $20,000 yesterday. And we need to keep it up! It’s going to take over $15,000 a day keep up the pressure against Congressman Mitchell's liberal attack machine.
We can win this year, but it’s going to take a major investment on the part of all of us to save our country.
Can David Schweikert count on your support today?

Over 50 people contributed $36 or more yesterday. Can David count on you to contribute $35 or more today?

Time is close to running out!
