Fraternal Order of Police, Phoenix Police Sergeants & Lieutenants Association and Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona “Strongly Support and Endorse Rick Romley for Maricopa County Attorney”

PHOENIX – Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley on Tuesday received formal endorsements from the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the Phoenix Police Sergeants & Lieutenants Association and the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona. The Professional Firefighters endorsement includes EMS personnel.

“By any measure, Fire Fighters, EMS teams and Police understand, better than anyone, the enormity and the importance of the challenges we face,” Romley said. “They are heroes and, their endorsement is the Gold Standard. I am honored to have their support, and proud to know them.”

In addition, Romley released a statement signed by at least 12 former heads or administrators at the highest levels. They include a former Special Agent in Charge of the United States Secret Service and U.S. Marshal, four U.S. Attorneys, two Chiefs of Police, three Arizona Attorneys General, a Maricopa County Attorney and a second United States Marshal.

During the media announcement, everyone applauded Romley's 16-year record of implementing strong policies that protect our neighborhoods – including the relentless prosecutions of violent criminals, drug traffickers and corrupt officials. They also acknowledged his career-long dedication to preserving the rights and dignity of the victims of crime.

“Rick Romley understands the need for integrity and honesty,” said Mark Hafkey, President of Phoenix Police Sergeants & Lieutenants Association. “He understands the fundamental principles of checks and balances and knows the difference between chasing criminals that make our community safer, and chasing headlines that make
politicians popular. Finally, we have a grown-up in the race with a
compass that works.

FOP State Lodge President John Ortolano noted Mr. Romley's “strong leadership and dedication in fighting violent crime, public corruption, gang violence, border-related crime, drug trafficking, terrorism, and sexual predators, and for his continual support of victims rights, property rights, and truth in sentencing statutes.”

Tim Hill, President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona added that “Rick Romley is a proven leader in our community with a long track record of success. It‟s obvious that he is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the citizens of Maricopa County – and obvious that Mr. Romley is the leader we need in the County Attorney's Office.”
