KVOA.COM TUCSON - At Tucson Unified School District, Friday afternoon, students protested the new ethnic studies ban. They also protested one of its biggest backers, State Schools Superintendent, Tom Horne. The students performed a skit that ended in the mock killing Horne.

We spoke with Horne about the skit he said, "I think that this is an illustration of the intellectual level of Barraza studies and what they're teaching them. The lowest intellectual level and the radicalism and the lack of reason and logic as a negative emotion that are a part of that course."

During the protest, students also burned paper signs in a trash can.

Governor Jan Brewer signed the law this week. It essentially bans schools from grouping, or teaching, students based on their ethnic backgrounds.

It's called La Raza Studies, not Barraza. The phone call was tough to make out, but everyone should be up on the issue and know the difference. La Raza means "The Race" and teaches hate against "those occupying Mexican Territory (In Southern Arizona)."
