Congressman Trent Franks on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom

In Case You Missed It: Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) today appeared on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” to discuss President Obama’s announcement that he would send National Guard troops to America’s southern border. He also discussed Arizona Governor Jan Brewer’s creation of a legal defense fund to defend against lawsuits brought against Arizona as a result of SB 1070, the state’s new immigration bill. According to Franks, the Administration has repeatedly qualified its promise to send National Guard troops to the border, stating that “as many as” 1,200 troops “could” be deployed, if the Administration deems it necessary. Franks stated that 1,200 is a fraction of the troops necessary, and even if all 1,200 are sent, most will not be actual “boots on the ground” guarding the border.
