EVENT DESCRIPTION:2nd annual dogathon [TM] set for waterfront + Southbridge in Downtown Scottsdale featuring Halloween dog costume parade contest!The second annual dogathon will take place on Oct 31 st + Nov 1st of 2009 in the ultra chic Waterfront + Southbridge area of Scottsdale Arizona.
The official dogathon 2009 charity and benefactor is Power Paws Assistance Dogs. All monies from events, contests and parade will go to help train dogs. Power Paws constant year round work changes lives of dependant people with the gift of a dog and independence.The dogathon is a ticket less two day event that will consist of a variety of dog competitions + events centered on a [charity parade] [Oct 31st] where participants dress up and walk around the canal for prizes in different categories for charity. Parade categories will include dogs + owners in Costumes, Fashion & by Breeds.
There will also be an adoption section in the parade where dogs are previewed for the adoption immediately following the parade. Choice Pet Market is sponsoring the adoption grotto and has pledged twenty dollars to all adopters and a fifty dollar gift coupon to their store.

Dress up and win a bunch of great prizes as well as a coveted show ribbon while raising money for a great cause.Saturday night Oct 31st will be our howl-O-ween party with a jack O’lantern contest, dog games as well as our outdoor open air movie. Patrons can hang out under the moonlight on the canal with their furry friends in costumes and get some great treats while helping charity.
The [Events Day] Sunday [Nov 1] will have an array of activities including our trademark snow grotto [3+ tons of snow], doggie photo booth, petiquette classes, live DJ, doggie massage, tricks competition [spectacular + stupid], sponsor booths and food by creative hands cuisine. The event ends Sunday afternoon with our raffle, prizes and award ceremony.
