2009 NFL DRAFT: CARDINALS PICK 31ST IN ROUND ONE

Today, for NFL fans, its' the Holy Grail. The 2009 NFL Draft looks to be one of the most interesting in the last few years.

The Detroit Lions
have already signed #1 Pick QB Matthew Stafford for a guaranteed $42 Million!

As for the Arizona Cardinals,
ESPN reports that there are still 2 teams interested in WR Anquan Boldin, the Eagles & Ravens. Earlier in the week, rumors were flying of a deal with Baltimore that included a 1st Round Pick & TE Todd Heap, former All-Pro & ASU player. (That would be a good deal!)

Kent Somers from the AZ Republic
writes that the Cards will keep Boldin. The Channel 12 Sports guys agree CLICK HERE to see video.

Unless the Cardinals get some kind of crazy offer for Boldin, they will be smart to keep him. Boldin is signed for 2 more years; giving him away for nothing would be a HUGE mistake.

As for the Draft itself, many of the
MOCK Drafts show the Cardinals choosing a RB @ #31; I think they will choose RB Donald Brown from U-Conn. Brown, the NCAA's Leading Rusher last season (over 2,000 yds), gives the Cards a 'speed back' that is sorely needed.

This should be a good day for Arizona if they can fill needs; RB, DB & LB. The 2009 NFL Draft starts today @ 1:00PM on ESPN (Dish Network Channel 140) & the NFL Network (Dish Network Channel 154). GO CARDINALS!!!

Cards draft Chris "Beanie" Wells, RB from Ohio State in Round#1. Great choice; all the 'talking heads' both on the NFL NETWORK & ESPN said that Wells was 'the best running back in the 2009 Draft'!

The Cards will at the least, win their division now that they will have a running game & didn't have to trade Boldin!
