According to a Wednesday morning press release from the Arizona House of Representatives, Speaker Kirk Adams, has reversed his decision to remove Sam Crump as Chairman of the House Government Committee.
Read the full press release HEREAdams' decision to BACKDOWN from the SLAPDOWN seems contrived, but that is OK with me. A little birdie tells me that this won't be the last time we see Sam Crump in the headlines. Crump has been all over the media talking about photo radar, house fire sprinklers, the AZ budget shortfall, etc. He is, afterall, a man on a mission....to The Hill....and has never made any secret about that.
(PM to Sam: Don't bite the hand that feeds you baby.)

Crump never ceases to amaze me. Word is that he approached House democrats with a deal that would make himself Speaker of the House. He told them he could bring his 5 Freshmen votes to the Dems in a powerplay against Kirk Adams.
From yesterday’s “Leg Report” from the Arizona Capitol Times:
“A source close to House GOP leadership confirmed yesterday’s rumor that Crump was shopping a deal to Dem leaders that would have made him the speaker. Crump reportedly approached one of the Dems to feel them out on the prospect of a Gnant-esque coalition between the minority and the 9 GOP votes he controlled. “I don’t know if he had pre-cleared this overture with his mutinous minions but his boundless ambition and opportunism is breathtaking for such a self-styled principled conservative Republican,” said the source.”
“Republican leaders apparently became aware of Crump’s offer to the Dems because the minority party rebuffed his attempted coup and sent a message to Adams letting him know what Crump had said. But yesterday, Crump laughed off the suggestion that he was trying to build a coalition with the Dems when a reporter asked him about it. “That’s news to me. That’s what these things lead to, sometimes. I’m not interested in that. I’d just like to continue my work as government chairman.” he said. Sinema confirmed to our reporter that Crump did, in fact, approach a member of her caucus as recently as yesterday morning to try and gin up a coalition. “He didn’t get anywhere with it,” she said, adding that she promptly sent Adams a text message about Crump’s overture. Another Dem said Crump broached the subject with several Democrats Monday night at an off-campus event at the Phoenix Art Museum.”
