Cardinals Win Opener; ASU stomps Stanford; D-Backs Get Swept
The Arizona Cardinals defeat the San Francisco 49ers23 - 13 in the season opener @ Candlestick Park. The Cards Defense forced 5 49er turnovers in the huge win.
Tied @ 10 at halftime, Coach KEN WHISENHUNT came out with the adjustments needed, and the Cards dominated this game in the 2nd half. ANQUAN BOLDIN, former All-Pro receiver led the surge with 8 catches for 82 yards.
NOTE TO THE BIDWILL'S - SIGN ANQUAN BOLDIN NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES, GIVE HIM WHAT HE WANTS, HE IS THE BEST WIDE RECEIVER IN THE NFL!
This is a game the 'old' Cardinals would have found a way to lose. Lets hope the improvement continues!
The ASU Sun Devils crushed Stanford Saturday night 47 - 17 in the PAC-10 opener. ASU moved up to #13 in the USA Coaches Poll with the victory.
Devils QB RUDY CARPENTER continued his stellar playthrowing for 345 yards. Carpenter is a completly different player this year. Whatever Coach DENNIS ERICKSON has done, it's working.
If Carpenter continues this type of play, look for the Sun Devils to have a fantastic season and for him to be a 1st round pick in the NFL Draft.
The Arizona Diamondbacks lost Sunday to the LA Dodgers 5 - 3. The Dodgers swept the D-Backs and now lead them by 1 1/2 games in the NL West. The D-Backs led the West all season until this weekend. With the Dodgers weak remaining schedule, I'm afraid the D-Backs season may be done. But the future looks bright for this young D-Back team.
