Just returned last night from a short trip to pick up
our grand kids for the summer. A couple of observtions:
As we left Tuesday, I filled up @ our local Costco (you save onaverage of about $.05 per gallon). Price was $ 4.09 per gallon.
Stopped in Marana, AZ (near Tucson) to top off. Gas was $ 3.89 per gallon. I called my pal the "Future Mayor", he took all the credit for the lower price.
The real shocker was in a little town named Lordsburg, NM population 3329. Gas was $ 3.66 per gallon. A 43 cent per gallon difference! Lordsburg is out in the middle of nowhere ( approx 110 miles from the NM/AZ border).
The closer we got to the Texas border, the price went back up, over $4.00 per gallon. We averaged 26.9 MPG on the trip, not bad!
