Regarding "Mitt snags Mich." (Editorial, Wednesday):
The editorial states that Sen. John McCain "likely didn't help himself with his campaign-trail comment several days ago that lost auto-industry jobs were not coming back."
I find it interesting that stating the truth rather than pandering to what
people want to hear, regardless of the facts, was said to be a "fundamental
misreading of Michigan voters." What a sad state of affairs. This not only
implies that in not playing the game by saying anything to get elected
McCain was somehow remiss or lacking.
It also says very little about the electorate that it would prefer to have the wool pulled over its eyes.Voters do sense that politics is an act. Therefore, they can find it hard to believe that what is said during campaigns really matters much. - B. Jean Walters, Cave Creek
