The Arizona Cardinals, behind a strong Defense & timely Offense, defeated the Seattle Seahawks in the home opener @ University of Phoenix Stadium by a score of 23 - 20. Neil Rackers kicked a game winning, 42 yard Field Goal with :05 seconds remaining for a HUGE win. The winning drive was set up by a fumble forced by the Cards Defense late in the 4th quarter. QB Matt Leinart was cool under pressure (only 1 Int), and RB Edgerrin James rushed for 127 yards. Another good game for the Offensive Line. Next week - The Baltimore Ravens. Great Job Cards!!!

Last, but certainly not least, the Phoenix Mercury won the WNBA title this afternoon in Detroit by beating the Shock 108 - 92. Penny Taylor scored 30 points for the Mercury; Cappie Poindexter added 26 as the Mercury became the 1st WNBA team to win the title on the road. Congratulations to the Mercury for winning the 3rd professional title in Arizona Sports history!!!
What a great day for Sports in Arizona? (except for my good friend TR of Think Right AZ who lost our bet on the Cards). He will have an immediate chance at redemption since his Oregon State Beavers face My Arizona State Sund Devils next Saturday night in the PAC-10 Football opener for the Sun Devils.
