Concerned Republican

"Saturday when I attended the Arizona Republican Statutory Meeting, I heard Sen. Jon Kyl close his speech with what separates us from the fundamentalists in Iraq is Human Freedom – we believe in it and they do not (paraphrased). Later when I addressed the CD 3 delegation, I referred to Sen. Kyl’s remarks as being in line with the Republican Principles of the party and mentioned Principles do not change while Platforms are formulated every four years at Presidential Conventions. The speaker immediately following me stated that although that is true, once we become Republicans and particularly Precinct Committeemen, we must adhere to that Platform, and NONE can deviate or you are NOT Republican! Can you see the soldiers of Herrod breaking into those homes in Bethlehem snatching every boy infant 2 years and under? Can you see the Saracens on horseback sweeping across Europe, black robes flying, swords raised, slaughtering all in their way? Can you see the see and hear the goose-stepping SS marching across Europe in WWII? Now, picture Saddam Hussein in his “spider hole” hiding from “his people” whom he eliminated because they did not follow him! Is this what our Party has become? We all march in lockstep to the tune of one facet of our Party? I don’t think so! That’s not “human freedom”. God trusted us with the Freedom of Will. It is ours to use responsibly without human or government interference as our First Principle of he Republican Party states!"

And no, I am not upset that I did not win a CD 3 Member-at-Large slot. I could never have supported the “positions” of my opponent(s)! I believe in Freedom!
