The AZ Republic bans AOL users from Blog....

Several sources have contacted Politico Mafioso that the
Arizona Republic has blocked all AOL (America Online) users
from accessing the 'Plugged In' Blog. AOL is the largest ISP,
(Internet Service Provider) in the US. When an AOL user clicks on the
link to Plugged In, here is what they get:

One sharp PM source called the Republic and was told that they had blocked all AOL users from the Blog because one AOL member had violated the Terms of Service rules the Republic has. Question for the Republic? In these days of high technology, why didn't they just block the IP Address of the offender? Why punish all AOL users for the abuses of one person? Anyone who runs a web site or blog knows that is the standard practice used all over the Internet.
I did call Dan Nowickci, Assistant Editor @ the Republic yesterday. He did not know of the problem, but promised to get back to me about the situation. I am positive that Dan will get this 'problem' fixed soon!

Here is the answer from John Leach, azcentral.com editor:

"We have temporarily blocked AOL users because of a horrible repeat
offender who has made hundreds of racist posts in our sports message boards
and at one point even posted photos of female genitalia throughout the
sports area (something we were able to block separately). We contacted AOL
for help weeks ago but have not received a response. AOL users cannot be
blocked by IP address because AOL issues IP addresses dynamically. At this
point, we are seeking legal advice on how we can deal with this user."

Thank You Dan for responding to this. I know your working to get this problem fixed.
