MATT SALMON TO SERVE AS CHAIRMAN OF
SUBCOMMITTEE ON THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE
Washington—Today, Representative Matt Salmon (AZ-05) announced his appointment as Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere. Salmon returns to the Committee after serving three previous terms during the 104th to 107th Congresses. He released the following statement on his appointment.
“It is an honor to serve as Chairman of the Subcommittee. I look forward to working with Chairman Royce to address the many international issues facing our nation, particularly issues within our own hemisphere. From politically unstable nations to the complex challenges of drug cartels, there are a range of issues for our Subcommittee to tackle. Our hemispheric neighbors need to know that we are strong business and trading partners for our allies and that we seek stronger relations with them as the world community continues to shrink. I am eager to get to work.”—Chairman Matt Salmon, Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere
