PHOENIX -

Arizona Senator Jeff Flake was just sworn in a couple of weeks ago, and he's already visited Afghanistan over the weekend.

These are some images of the senator meeting with military forces in the war zone.

He also went to Israel, where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

We asked him by phone, if Israel decided to attack Iran to stop its nuclear program, how much would the U.S. be involved?

"In order to really turn back their capability, it's going to take U.S. technology and our fire power, so I think this does necessitate the U.S. working closely with Israel. Israel can do a lot on its own but I'm not sure they can complete the task," said Flake.

Senator Flake also said that when he returns to Washington he expects movement on the immigration issue.

"It's obviously going to require a bipartisan solution, several democrats have already reached out... I think that will come quickly, as the New York Times article yesterday saying the president's ready to move and will likely outline his proposal or the basic outline in the State of the Union address early next month."

He says this will take cooperation between Democrats and Republicans.
