"Supporters of presidential candidate Ron Paul used a two pronged approach in attempts to hijack last Saturday's Arizona Republican state convention held at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. One approach used a combination of loud disruptions and intimidation tactics to keep supporters of Mitt Romney from expressing their views during the opening speeches of the convention. The second approach was a blatant attempt to takeover the hall and continue to conduct business after the meeting had been adjourned by AZ GOP Chairman Tom Morrissey."
"Ron Paul supporters also cried 'foul' at the mention of a list of people running for delegate positions that supported Romney's candidacy. They clearly failed to appreciate why such lists or 'slates' are necessary at conventions of this type.
There were over 400 candidates running to become a delegate representing Arizona at the Republican National Convention in Tampa in August 2012. Without these lists or 'slates', it would be nearly impossible for state delegates voting on RNC delegates to know who they were voting for.
This knowledge was particularly critical since there had been credible reports that Ron Paul supporters were attempting to 'pack' the delegate list with their own people. Arizona's presidential primary is a 'winner take all' primary with all delegates to the RNC being pledged to Romney on the first vote since he was the winner of Arizona's Republican primary."
And these are the folks who's votes you are trying to win Saturday? Good Luck Dougie!
