Jeff Flake Earns Backing of Small Business in Campaign for U.S. Senate

Flake “a principled reformer and a consistent defender of small business”

PHOENIXThe National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) -- America’s leading small business association representing small and independent businesses -- today announced its endorsement for Arizona’s Jeff Flake in the race for the United States Senate.

“Jeff Flake is one of the steadiest defenders of small business and free enterprise in Congress and he understands very keenly theneed for fiscal reform, tax reform and regulatory reform,” said Lisa Goeas, NFIB Vice President of Political and Grassroots. “He knows that the only way for America to get back on track is to grow the private sector, which means reducing the burdens imposed by the federal government.”

Flake earned praise from NFIB for a perfect 100 percent voting record this session on the small business issues that are key to its members, including his effort to repeal President Obama’s health care law, support for expanding the America’s energy supply, and his fight to reduce regulations and reign in the EPA.

“Jeff is a principled reformer and a consistent defender of small business,” said Goeas. “It’s very important for Arizona small business owners to send him to the US Senate. He understands their concerns and he’s willing to fight the tough fights.”

NFIB State Director Farrell Quinlan said that the Senate would benefit from having more fiscally responsible members -- like Jeff Flake -- who understand that the status quo in Washington is no longer acceptable.

“The United States Senate hasn’t passed a budget in three years,” said Quinlan. “There’s not a small business or a household in Arizona that could survive without some fiscal discipline and that’s exactly what Jeff Flake will bring to the institution.”

Because business moves our nation’s economy forward, Arizona’s Jeff Flake has been a strong ally to the business community throughout his service in Congress. He is committed to pro-business policies that make it easier for the economy to grow and American workers to prosper. He has previously received the endorsements of the U.S., Arizona, Chandler, North Scottsdale, and Lake Havasu Area Chambers of Commerce.
