Democrat Carmona supports Obamacare, which cuts $716
billion from Medicare
PHOENIX –
Democratic Senate candidate Richard Carmona is again proving why he was
handpicked and recruited by President Barack Obama to run for the Senate in
Arizona. Carmona has begun to attack his opponent Jeff Flake using a favorite
page out of the Democrats’ election playbook: Mediscare.
Problem is, this old standby
strategy has been backfiring on Democrats as voters have gotten wise to the
tired technique and are looking more closely at the policies the Democrats are
promoting.
Speaking
to Democrats earlier this year, Richard Carmona acknowledged that he supported
Obamacare and even called the President ‘brave” for pushing it.

However, President Obama and
congressional Democrats cut $716 billion from Medicare over the next
decade to pay for Obamacare, the president’s massive health care entitlement.
Democrats’ deep cuts to Medicare will ultimately hurt seniors and impact their
access to quality care.
“Obamacare
means devastating consequences for Medicare, because it cuts $716 billion from
the program,” said
Andrew Wilder, communications director for the Flake campaign. “It’s irreconcilable for anyone to support
Obamacare while also claiming to support protecting Medicare for seniors. Yet
that’s Richard Carmona.”
Arizona
seniors have a choice, however. Jeff Flake has fought both political parties in
order to reform Washington. Flake voted against
Obamacare and supports its repeal. Jeff Flake will provide a check and
balance on President Obama and congressional Democrats, and will fight
for common-sense reforms that will protect benefits of current recipients and
preserve the program for future
generations.
