Arpaio Backs Max Wilson for Supervisor

WEST VALLEY – Maricopa County Supervisor Max Wilson announced today Sheriff Joe Arpaio is endorsing him in his bid for re-election to serve the people of District 4.

Sheriff Arpaio says, “Max Wilson understands the need to retain experienced law enforcement officers to enforce all of the laws on the books. He is a solid supporter of our efforts to reduce illegal immigration and enforce our laws."

Wilson says, “Sheriff Arpaio has worked tirelessly to protect the citizens of Maricopa County and to enforce the laws. My constituents value his efforts, and I appreciate Sheriff Arpaio’s support. I look forward to continue to build on the positive working relationships we’ve been able to build.”

Supervisor Wilson’s main focuses are fiscal responsibility, job creation, protecting Luke Air Force Base. Wilson was recently appointed by Governor Brewer to serve on the Military Affairs Commission.

Max Wilson has received endorsements from Governor Jan Brewer, Congressman Trent Franks, Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery, Litchfield Park Mayor Thomas Schoaf, Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord, Buckeye Mayor Jackie Meck, El Mirage Mayor Lana Mook, and Youngtown Mayor Michael LeVault.

About Max Wilson

Max Wilson was appointed unanimously to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in 2002 and was re-elected to the office in 2004 and 2008. Before serving on the Board of Supervisors, Mr. Wilson was a Councilmember and Vice Mayor in Litchfield Park. He has served on the Peeples Valley/Yarnell Historical Society Board of Directors, Arizona Diamondbacks Charity Board of Directors and the Sun Health LaLoma Board of Directors.

Currently, he is a member of the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce, the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Luke West Valley Council (He served as 2005 Civilian Chair for the Council). He is also appointed by Governor Brewer to the Office of Homeland Security to be a member of the Central Region Advisory Council.

He is also on the Maricopa County Trail Commission, MAG Transportation Policy Committee, MAG Regional Council, Military Airport Preservation Committee, the Flood Control District, the Stadium District, and the Library District.
