Club for Growth President Chris Chocola: “Wil Cardon claims he’s a fiscal conservative, but he supported billions in tax increases and is part of a liberal group that champions higher taxes on gasoline and cap and trade energy taxes.”
Washington, DC – Today, Club for Growth Action announced the beginning of an aggressive campaign to expose conservative “imposter” Wil Cardon’s support for a $9 billion dollar tax increase and his membership in the liberal Urban Land Institute, which supports increased gas taxes, cap and trade energy taxes, and even wants to place a transponder in vehicles so the government can tax Arizonans for every mile they drive. Club for Growth Action will spend $500,000 on these initial ads, which will start airing tomorrow on broadcast and cable stations throughout Arizona.
The initial campaign will consist of two different 15-second TV ads, and a sixty second radio ad:
“Wil Cardon claims he’s a fiscal conservative, but he supported billions in tax increases and is part of a liberal group that champions higher taxes on gasoline and cap and trade energy taxes,” said Club for Growth President Chris Chocola. “On the other hand, Jeff Flake is a true fiscal conservative with a record that matches his rhetoric. Jeff led the fight to ban wasteful earmark spending, and he’s received the top rating in the entire Congress from Citizens against Government Waste. Arizona Republicans won’t be fooled by economic liberal Wil Cardon and his support for higher taxes.”
