Arizona Sheriffs Endorse Jeff Flake for U.S. Senate

PHOENIX – A coalition of Arizona’s county sheriffs today announced their support for Jeff Flake to serve in the United States Senate.

Sheriff Tom Sheahan, Mohave County: “Jeff Flake understands that Arizona bears the brunt of negative consequences from an unsecure border and that the violence and drugs associated with illegal cross-border traffic endangers all communities. Jeff supports effective border security, without amnesty, which is why I support him for US Senate.”

Sheriff Ralph Ogden, Yuma County: “Jeff knows the difference between results and rhetoric when it comes to securing the border. He supports programs like Operation Streamline, which has dramatically curbed illegal crossings in the Yuma Sector, and he will work to see that it’s fully implemented in the Tucson Sector.”

Sheriff Scott Mascher, Yavapai County: “Strong communities are the first defense against crime. Jeff Flake knows that ill-considered decisions by federal bureaucrats can devastate rural economies and rural communities. Jeff’s record of fighting out of control bureaucracy in Washington is a good reason why I support him for Senate.”

Sheriff Joe Richards, Coconino County (Retired): “Arizona needs a strong vibrant U.S. Senator who understands the issues and challenges facing our state and who has the skills and ability to get the job done. Our state is challenged with immigration issues, unemployment and economic problems like many other states. We need a U.S. Senator who can use his experience in the legislature to accomplish goals that will strengthen the economy and energize Arizonans to work together successfully. I am pleased to offer my support for Jeff Flake and I urge the citizens of Northern Arizona to join me in voting for Jeff in this vital election. I know that he will serve us with integrity.”

Earlier this month, Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever endorsed Jeff Flake, saying: “Jeff knows that an unsecure border threatens our nation’s safety and security. Amnesty is unacceptable. His experience and commitment to Arizona and our nation will hold our federal government responsible to secure our border and protect our citizens. The drug related crime we have today will not be tolerated under Jeff’s watch. Jeff’s a good man. He gets it.”

And there’s more to come.
Over 100 leaders and organizations throughout Arizona and the nation that have endorsed Jeff Flake for Senate, including Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery, Congressman Paul Ryan, U.S. Senators Jim DeMint and Pat Toomey, National Taxpayers Union, Arizona Right to Life, and FreedomWorks for America. Additionally, Flake has an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association and top ratings from the National Right to Life Committee and Citizens Against Government Waste.
