Friends,
It's a sad fact: so many of those who are willing to sacrifice everything to fight for their country return from the front lines only to head to the unemployment line. Our returning heroes deserve better.
To connect willing employers with our returning veterans, I organized the "Helping our Heroes" Veterans Job Fair which took place today. It was a great success. More than 50 employers from around the Phoenix Metro area came to recruit potential employees. Hundreds of veterans showed up to talk with employers, and based on my interactions with these employers, I can say with confidence that many of those who attended will soon have quality employment.
We need to recognize the sacrifices our heroes make every day, and we must never forget what they have done for us. I'll keep working to ensure that our returning veterans get the heroic welcome they deserve.
