MCRC Chairman ROB HANEY using AZ GOP Mailing Permit for TEA PARTY Propaganda!

On March 8th, many elected & appointed Republican Precinct Committeeman received a 'letter' from MCRC Chairman ROB HANEY. Inside the mailing, with a return address to the AZ GOP, was propoganda from the AZ 2012 Project, which is a Tea Party group.

We have been inundated the past few days with e-mails & phone calls from PC's all over Maricopa County and the state. This e-mail pretty much sums it all up:

Subject: Has the Chairman of the MCRC taken over the Tea Party?

Hello,

In addition to being the founder of the Original North Phoenix Tea Party, I am also an elected Republican Precinct Committeeman in LD 6-28. Today I received a packet from the "Arizona Republican Party" containing a letter from MCRC Chairman Rob Haney telling me the virtues of being an elected P.C. and enclosing a blank petition to use to collect the necessary signatures to be elected again in 2012. Also included were petitions for Bill Montgomery (which I already have) Sheriff Joe and Hos Hoskins. Now I am not sure but I believe there may be other Republicans running for Sheriff and County Treasurer...if so, then it is not proper for Mr. Haney to again violate the rules by endorsing a Republican candidate in a Primary election...but that has not stopped him in the past.

What really shocked me though was the inclusion in an 'official' Republican mailing of a letter from Ron Ludders, self appointed Chairman of the 2012 Project endorsing each of these candidates.

Additionally there is a self addressed envelope to the "Arizona Project" with which, I assume, to be used to return these signed petitions.

My question is: When did the Arizona 2012 Project become an "official" arm of the Republican Party?

I do not recall electing them to such a lofty position of 'power'. Did I miss something? Mr. Ludders claims to be "The A Team of Tea Parties" but the Tea Party is supposed to be non partisan so what gives here? Has Mr. Haney taken over the Tea Party too? I find this a complete abuse of his office and I find Mr. Ludder's letter enclosed in this envelope and his assumption of the responsibility of collecting signed petitions offensive! Am I the only one that feels that way?

Wes

Well Mr. Harris, we put our 'crack investigative team' to work & here is what they found out!

The Mailing Permit used by the Arizona Republican Party is under Section 703 of the USPS Mail Manual - Nonprofit Standard Mail and Other Unique Eligibility. Here are the specific rules that apply:

By using the AZ GOP Mail Permit to send MCRC & Tea Party propoganda, Rob Haney may be jeopardizing the Republican Party's ability to communicate with its' PC's! Many of the longtime PC's we speak with are very angry about this. Seems that Haney never sees a rule that applies to him. One notable PC has the letter sent by Haney and it is un-opened. Might be used as evidence in a Postal Service Investigation. Much more to come on this.....STAY TUNED!!!
