Franks: Giffords' Kindness Will Be Missed in U.S. Congress

Franks: Giffords' Kindness Will Be Missed in U.S. Congress

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02), issued the following statement in response to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' resignation from Congress today:

"I served with Congresswoman Giffords for nearly six years, working alongside her on the House Armed Services Committee.

"Although we differed politically, our relationship was a testament
to the truth that true tolerance is not about ignoring our differences, but is about being kind to each other in spite of those differences. Truly, not so much as an unkind word ever passed between the two of us, and her good-humored nature and kindness will be missed by all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

"Congresswoman Giffords' recovery has been an inspirational
story for countless Americans who have stood behind her since learning of the cowardly act to which she was a victim. I sincerely pray for God's greatest blessings upon Gabby and every loved one in her life."
