Congressman Flake Urges Removal of Language from Omnibus That Restricts Cuban-American Travel and Remittances
Washington, D.C. – Republican Congressman Jeff Flake, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, today urged House Leadership to remove language from the pending omnibus spending bill package that would reinstate travel and remittance restrictions on Cuban-Americans seeking to visit or send money to family members in Cuba.
“While there is plenty to dislike about this omnibus bill, the provision restricting the ability of Cuban-Americans to visit or send money to their relatives in Cuba is particularly bad,” said Flake. “I hope this provision will be removed.”
