Well, that didn't take long. Yet, somehow it actually took longer than it should have.
It seems that some members of the "Tea Party" are finally realizing what everyone else knew all along: Tom Morrissey is not one of them.
I never understood how this guy bamboozleded them in the first place. I mean the guy was a district chairman in the 90's and has deep ties to Joe Arpaio. This is a guy who has been desperately and unsuccessfully trying to climb the political ladder for decades, not a political newcomer concerned with liberty.
Actually, I'm pretty sure I do know how he bamboozled them. Nobody ever accused the Tea Party of being sophisticated. And the "movement", while initially well intentioned, has attracted all kinds of uninformed crazies, nutjobs, and opportunists (like Tommy M and Rob Haney) who see this as their way to power.
So they get an email from a "Tea Party Leader" that says "Vote for Tom '5 Wives' Morrissey, he's a real conservative" and they blindly go and do it. No research. No verification. No discussion with people who actually know him.
But not everyone in the Tea Party was fooled.
I'm not a Tea Party fan, if you can't tell. I'm a Republican. I've been a Republican for over 20 years, and I've been active in the party for a long time. I don't quite understand the mindset of someone who decided, last year, that the country was on the wrong track so they wanted to go to a rally dressed as a founding father.

Tom Morrissey is a puppet; this guy has so much baggage it reeks. Anyone who believes he is Tea Party is a moron, those who are promoting him as such are GOPYikes.
Tea Party Infiltrates, traitors of Patriot’s needing a dip in the tar bucket, feathers and run down the street.

It's not that there aren't good people that affiliate with the Tea Party. I'm sure there are. It's just not my (forgive me) cup of tea.
Tom Morrissey isn't the Tea Party just because Rob Haney says so. He's an unqualified hack with "so much baggage that it reeks." He's just the latest incarnation of the lunatic part of the GOP that thinks other Republicans are the enemy.
And while he remains in position, he's doing a disservice to both the Tea Party and the Republican Party. The Democrats are the only ones who win.
I'm glad to see some Tea Partiers figuring that out. It's too bad it happened too late to avoid electing this trainwreck in the first place.

When all the 'truth' is finally made public on this creep Morrissey, what will the people who voted for him have to say then?
Rob Haney needs to be held accountable for bringing Arizona Republicans this 'disaster'!
And trust me, we will!
In my opinion, Maricopa County Republican Party Chairman Rob Haney, only likes puppets and brainless zombies; not independent thinkers and leaders; like JD Hayworth, Tom Husband, Tom Morrisey, and Mark "Pantless" Sphinx and Jenny "Cyclops" White. This is one of the problem he had with former Republican Party Chairman of LD 20 Anthony Miller. Chairman Haney truely is the resurrection of Adolf Hitler. Are the good, business minded Republicans going to stand by and let this party be sucked down the drain like a endless pit in the base of the Earth. I say the good Republicans need to hunt these fools down like they hunted down Frankenstein.
Anonymous for now, so as not to spook the prey, there are those of us in the Tea Party who are edging ever closer for the trophy taking. We are even now stepping silently down the trail, on his six, as we patiently wait for the right time to pounce. Check this quote from an associate of the writer you quoted:
"Tom Morrissey is nothing more than a stain from a mistake that the TEA PARTY PATRIOTS did NOT back or support. He has no idea what he's doing, and we are not here to raise money or support the Republican Party as a Whole. He thinks we are the same as GOP??? Holy crap Ron this guy is just a puppet. The Tea Party Patriots are non partisan and don't endorse. We don't take sides on a party, just the candidate. You should talk with his ex-wives if you want to know more. I won't say those things just to feed the media. They are to Liberal as it is. I'm far from McCain people but this guy is just as bad. He doesn't know what grass roots is let alone know how to mimic one. Our reputation does not need someone saying the Tea Party put him in, because that would be a FALSE statement. Why is even Fox news saying that the AZGOP is backing Jeff Flake to the fullest? If Tom knew what he was doing , he would have news conferences setting them straight, that it was only McCain's people claiming such an outrageous statement of a RINO support. There are many, many of us that don't support this man and feel as though he hasn't a clue of what to do. The only so called Tea Party supporters are GOP people wanting to ride on the Tea Party Patriots wave."
Yikes indeed. Some of us are ready to go further even than this.
There are those of us in the Greater Phoenix Tea Party who knew that Morrissey was bad news, but unfortunately the current leader, without consulting any of the other leadership, took it upon herself to tap him as the replacement candidate, without giving mention to any other candidate. Why? Because he was a personal family friend and long-time client of her husband. She even tried to cover that up after the fact, by saying he was "once" a client, for a short time. Leaders were incensed that they were not consulted and she represented the entire group without their approval. Needless to say, she has since stepped down. Over this issue? No. Because of internal impropriety, posing as another new member, calling herself "Chester Arthur" and putting cheap shots up on the blogs about the former President whom she replaced. Rather than face the leadership group and admit to her mistakes, she quit and tried to dismantle the groups by spreading more lies and hatred. One wonders what motivates a person like this. Looking at her endorsement of Morrissey, and her subsequent behavior, it seems she was an infiltrator and she was exposed. The light gets turned on in the room, and you know what scurries away...
