Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) today released the following statement regarding Senator Jon Kyl’s (R-AZ) announcement that he retire from the United States Senate at the end of his term in 2013:

Washington, D.C. – Republican Congressman Jeff Flake, who represents Arizona’s Sixth District, today released the following statement regarding the announcement by Senator Jon Kyl that he will not seek reelection.

February 10, 2011 - Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) gave the following statement today in light of Sen. Jon Kyl's (R-AZ) announcement that he will not seek a fourth term in 2012.
"Over the course of the past 27 years, I have come to have the privilege of calling Senator Kyl not only my colleague in the U.S. Congress but also a very dear friend. Since 1987 Jon Kyl has served the people of Arizona with unparalleled honor, integrity, and a deep, unswerving commitment to principle, and his service has led him to truly become a lion in the Senate, personifying exactly what a U.S. Senator should be to this country.
