PHOENIX - Sen. John Kyl announced he's stepping down after his term in office ends next year. So, who will take the Arizona's Senator’s place? On Monday, Republican state Rep. Jeff Flake is expected to throw his hat in the ring.
If Flake announces his candidacy on Monday, it would make him the first to officially declare his intentions to run. Experts say his chances to win the primary are better now that former Rep. John Shaddeg announced he's not getting in the race.
Political analyst Michael O’Neil said it will be weeks and months before we find out who is serious and who is not.
The ball is expected to get rolling at Flake’s news conference at 8 a.m Monday!
