Arizona's District 20 Republicans elected a new district chair on Wednesday.
Or, about half of them did anyway.
In contrast to previous elections in the district, which have typically generated huge attendance numbers, this election was poorly attended.
The ever insightful morons at SeeingRedAZ, a cesspool of "conservative" idiocy that covers these types of things, even acknowledge the fact that a large portion of the district failed to show up. They, of course, see that as a victory, claiming that the the "true conservatives" beat down "the establishment".
If by "establishment" they mean the other half of the district, then I suppose they are right.
I've never understood the concept of reveling and celebrating the shrinking of a political party. If you used to have 120 dedicated activists, but now you have 60, then you have a problem.
When the faction that now controls District 20 first ran last December, they assembled a team that they called "New Vision." They said they wanted District 20 to be a "model district."
Well, now team "New Vision" is in charge of district 20, which, with its shrinking (but pure!) membership, lack of money, and demotivated base has rapidly become a pathetic shadow of its former self.
Come to think of it, now that Tom Morrissey, leader of team "New Vision" has ascended to take the reins of the AZ GOP, perhaps District 20 will end up being a model district after all.

Excellent post TOTC! You "GET IT", unlike the slime over @ Peeing Red or the Moron Alliance.
These idiots can't win shit unless they lie, cheat, or steal.
I for one can hardly wait until this Senate race in 2012. Bring on J.D. Huskster again....I will have even more fun than I did in 2010!
We should start a pool on how soon it is before Morrissey quits? I hear he's having real regrets over running.
