Peggy Neely Shines with New Phoenix Economy Forum

Phoenix Rising” attended by over 300 guests – Neely Exploratory Committee
raises nearly $125,000 in single event

The Exploratory Committee for Neely for Mayor hosted a highly successful economic forum titled “Phoenix Rising: The New Phoenix Economy” which was attended by over 300 guests.

The forum was led by Paulina Morris and featured a panel of distinguished business and community leaders including C. Webb Crockett, Geoff Freeman, Bruce Merrill Ph.D., and Jim Rounds. Topics included attracting business, growing new opportunities while supporting the businesses we have, and Phoenix’s economic future.

“This was a spectacular gathering of business leaders and top thinkers discussing Phoenix’s economy and next steps for our prosperity,” said Paulina Morris, “I think this event was a prime example of Peggy Neely’s thoughtful leadership and another example why there is such a solid exploratory committee encouraging her to run for Mayor.”

In all, this single event raised nearly $125,000 for the Exploratory Committee for Neely for Mayor, the strongest support shown for any potential candidate. Combined with her end-of-the-year report, Neely’s exploratory committee has now raised $230,000. This represents a great start but is only the beginning when it comes to funding a potential campaign for Mayor in America’s 5th largest city.

“By far, Peggy Neely has the best job-creation record, particularly in bio industry, high tech, health care, manufacturing, and hospitality in her District alone, over 6,000 high-quality jobs with W.L. Gore, Mayo Clinic Hospital, American Express, Desert Ridge, and MIM. For the Valley, she led the widening of I-17 and is a proponent of the I-11 project between Phoenix and Las Vegas. She has vision, energy, and effectiveness, just what's needed for a great Mayor of Phoenix,” said Dick Mallery, Co-Chair of Exploratory Committee for Neely for Mayor.

Councilwoman Peggy Neely has been a leader in job creation attracting companies such as Republic Services, Mayo Clinic, Axway, APL, Ryan Companies, Penske Automotive Group/Chauncey Ranch Auto Boutique. During her time on council, Neely also has worked hard to expand existing businesses.

“It is time for leaders to listen – to work with the citizens of our great city to chart a course for a prosperous future,” said Paul Gilbert, Co-Chair of Exploratory Committee for Neely for Mayor, “That is why the vision for this committee has been ‘The Phoenix We Want.’ Peggy has been listening to the citizens of Phoenix, neighborhood leaders, business owners because she understands the benefits of inclusive and thoughtful dialogue.”

“The future of Phoenix depends upon aggressive, positive solutions and the ability to bring businesses to the city,” concluded Morris, “That’s why Peggy Neely’s track record puts her in a class of her own. She continues to put her best foot forward showing her competence in leading Phoenix on a path toward recovery and sustainability as she explores a potential run for Mayor.”
