Arizona U.S. Senator John McCain issued a statement following the killing of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.
“This event is yet another reminder of the dangers the men and women of the Border Patrol face every day as they put their lives on the line to protect the American people,” Mr. McCain said.
The Republican U.S. Senator added that the latest incident demands action from Congress concerning border security and immigration reform.
A number of U.S. Senators from border states have urged President Obama to pursue border security and immigration reform. Earlier this year, the president announced the deployment of a number of National Guard troops, most of which deployed to Arizona and Texas.
