TEMPE, Ariz. - Sports 620 KTAR's Gambo & Ash set out Wednesday to raise money for the 100 Club of Arizona.
The event, taking place at ASU's Karsten Golf Course in Tempe did just that, as the final tally of $260, 906 will provide financial assistance to families of public safety officers and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.
Gambo said that he was inspired by the stories he heard throughout the event.
"We touched a lot of people today and a lot of people touched us," Gambo said.
Both Gambo and Ash were amazed by the way people contributed to the 100 Club.
"I am blown away every year about the power and generosity of our amazing community," Ash said. "To be able to raise over 260K in 12 hours is awesome. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
"We should all feel good about the fact that we now play a major major role in assisting the 100 Club in their efforts to help the families of those who put their life on the line every single day for us," Gambo said.
Gambo & Ash did their show live from the course, broadcasting from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. From the golf tournament to a golf ball drop from a helicopter, Sports 620 KTAR listeners were able to enjoy the day while helping out a good cause.
