Blasphemy? Some nations still have laws against blasphemy? If you read the following article, you soon get the idea that to some people the seventh century is not that far removed from what we thought was reality. Blasphemy? Great Gobs of Galloping Ghoulash! United Nations, are you guys in this twenty-first century going to stand for this nonsense?
The dialogue in this true article is almost unbelievable; grown people speaking and acting like this. And what was the terrible, earth-shaking, blasphemous phraseology? “Jesus Christ died for the sins of humanity, what did Muhammad do for you?”
Instead of going berserk and off like a ballistic missile, it seems to me the women could have simply answered the question. Their prophet Muhammad achieved much success in his lifetime to secure what he believed was the perfect religion for the Peninsula of the Arabs.
There are no other religions there now. He overcame many obstacles on his way to completing his task, not the least of which was the victory at Badr and the victory of the
Trench. One can go on and on in detailing what Muhammad accomplished for his people. In other words, the posed questions had answers..
Why was the question so enormous? One would suspect that it is all part of some other agenda, some plan to banish from towns and villages in Pakistan, Egypt, and elsewhere all who are non-believers. That plan is definitely not Kosher! And a certain imam has the temerity to call us Islamophobic because we do not need a Hate Mosque at ground zero!
Well, United Nations, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? Besides talk, that is.

Pakistan: Christian woman sentenced to death for "blasphemy"

Apparently all she did was confess the Christian faith. Islamic Tolerance Alert: "Punjab: Christian woman sentenced to death for blasphemy," from Asia News, November 9 (thanks to C. Cantoni):
Islamabad (AsiaNews/Agencies) - Pakistan has "crossed a line" in sentencing a Christian woman to death for blasphemy. Asia Bibi, a 37-year-old farm worker mother of two, was convicted of committing blasphemy before her fellow workers during a heated discussion about religion in the village of Ittanwali in June last year.
Some of the women workers had reportedly been pressuring Bibi to renounce her Christian faith and accept Islam. During one discussion, Bibi responded by speaking of how Jesus had died on the cross for the sins of humanity and asking the Muslim women what Muhammad had done for them.
The Muslim women took offence and began beating Bibi. Afterwards she was locked in a room. According to Release International, a mob reportedly formed and "violently abused" her and her children.
The charity, which supports persecuted Christians, said that blasphemy charges were brought against Bibi because of pressure from local Muslim leaders....
In addition to the death sentence, Bibi was also fined the equivalent for an unskilled worker of two and a half years' wages.
Another Christian woman, Martha Bibi (no relation to Asia), is also on trial in Lahore for blasphemy.
According to the National Commission on Justice and Peace (NCJP) of the Catholic Church, between 1986 and August 2009, at least 974 people have been charged for defiling the Qur'an or insulting the Prophet Muhammad. They include 479 Muslims, 340 Ahmadis, 119 Christians, 14 Hindus and 10 from other religions....
