Fox News names Sheriffs Paul Babeu, Larry Dever among Top Ten 'Toughest'

FOX NEWS RANKS SHERIFFS BABEU AND DEVER AMONG TOP TEN ‘TOUGHEST’ ON IMMIGRATION

Phoenix, AZ – On Tuesday, FoxNews.com included Sheriffs Paul Babeu and Larry Dever, both honorary co-chairs at BorderSheriffs.com, in its list of Top Ten ‘Toughest’ Immigration Sheriffs in America, as rated by immigration experts, think tanks and law enforcement organizations. Sheriff Babeu of Pinal County, AZ is the president of the Arizona Sheriffs’ Association and an outspoken critic of the lawsuits launched by the Administration and the ACLU against Arizona and its sheriffs. Sheriff Dever, whose Cochise County, AZ shares more than 80 miles of border with Mexico, is also strongly in support of Arizona immigration law SB 1070 and has filed an amicus brief in support of the appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court.

“Our sheriffs truly are the toughest in the nation,” said Owen ‘Buz’ Mills, former Arizona gubernatorial candidate and chairman of BorderSheriffs.com. “They have been tireless on the front lines of what has become a war and also fighting the Obama administration’s aggressive lawsuit against Arizona and its sheriffs.

“Though the administration has done little to help protect Arizonans and the country, we can always rely on Sheriffs Babeu and Dever to risk their lives to protect their communities.”

In an effort to combat lawsuits by the ACLU and the Obama Administration against Arizona and its sheriffs for passing and enforcing immigration law SB 1070, Sheriffs Dever and Babeu formed BorderSheriffs.com to provide a sufficient legal defense and ensure Arizona’s sheriffs can continue to fight illegal immigration and criminal activity at the border. They are awaiting a ruling from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals following a November 1 hearing on an appeal of a prior injunction of key portions of the law.

BorderSheriffs.com is a project of the Border Sheriffs Association which was formed to help provide Arizona sheriffs a sufficient legal defense to take on the Obama Administration, the ACLU and others opposing a secure border and enforcement of SB1070. The Association is a 501(c)(4) organization based in Phoenix, Arizona, focused on immigration related policy matters, including constitutional and civil rights.
