HORNE TO JOIN GOVERNOR AT S.B. 1070 LEGAL HEARING IN SAN FRANCISCO
PHOENIX – Republican Attorney General nominee Tom Horne will travel to San Francisco this weekend to observe the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals hearing on the challenge to S.B. 1070.
"This hearing is a significant milestone in the legal battle to defend Arizona against the Obama assault against S.B. 1070," Horne said. "Arizona is well within its Constitutional rights to devise a reasonable process for local law enforcement to determine if a suspected criminal may be in this country illegally. S.B. 1070 is supported by law enforcement groups including organizations that represent patrol officers such as the Arizona Highway Patrol Association, the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association as well as multiple county Sheriffs statewide. These law enforcement professionals have endorsed my candidacy because they share my enthusiasm for defending this law so they have another tool available to them to reduce crime."
